Manchaster 2-20-10

Saturday, April 17th, 2010
I got to Manchester by bus, but I arrived really late that day. I was lucky my friends Michael and Amanda kept my spot in front. I also started to promote 30STM and SDC immediately, cause there wasn’t that much time till the doors open.

After the promotion I went back to the front of the queue, where Michael was waiting for me. He put me in front of him. We had to wait a while, but it was worth it. When the doors opened we went inside and again we had to queue, which was weird. Then the security guards let us down the stairs and when we finally got down we ran to the barrier. We had great spots in front of Shannon/Tim.

Lost Alone was first again and they were better this time. It really seemed like they had the song down this time and there was less showing off. SDC came on next and their songs were still in my mind. I could sing along with a few of them already. The funny part was that after 2 gigs the guys of SDC already recognized me. At least Bobby did. He came by with his phone to record the first row and when he saw me he backed up and waved at me. As they did the night before they put on a great show. Then it was time to change the stage for 30stm.

As they came on stage with “Escape” We all went a little bit crazy. Especially cause I was finally with friends and we all had all this energy which came lose when the curtain dropped. “Night of The Hunter” was next and Jared was jumping on stage like a mad man. He came to our side of the stage a little bit too many, but that was great to see that he rather rocked out with us then with the other side. SDC came on when “Vox Populi” started and showed us again how we had to stamp and clap. Of course the gig wasn’t a gig if they didn’t play some songs of “A Beautiful Lie”. That’s why they played 4 song of that album, but this time it was more at the end of the setlist. And Shannon playing L490 again was very good to see. It is good to see that Shannon does do other things that drumming. After Shannon, Jared showed up somewhere on the balcony again. I wasn’t about to lose my spot and turn around. That’s why I kept looking at the screens in the hope that they showed something, but they didn’t. I heard him play “Capricorn”, which was good to hear again. On the second stage they played “The Fantasy”. When they came back to the main stage. I heard them play “Closer To The Edge” and Tim was again the one who played guitar instead of the bass. When “From Yesterday” started I actually didn’t know where to look as Shannon was on the big screen and on stage. Which was kind of hard to focus on on thing. It was a while that I saw the video of “From Yesterday”. Jared asked again who wanted to sing on stage with him again, but there were only 5 people allowed this time and Jon, was very strickt in that. I didn’t even bother to be picked, but there were guys behind me and they pulled me up and got me over the barrier anyway. I only had to leave. Which kinda sucked, cause I finally managed to get over it.

After the gig, SDC came out again and I talked to them a bit. After that we waited for the guys at the back and only Tomo came out for a bit. I did get a photo and my wristband got signed. After that we went back to the hotel.

Nottingham 2-19-10

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

I arrived in Nottingham on the day of the concert. I went straight to the venue to check out how many people were already queueing. Just to get a feel of how the tour would be like queueing wise. I saw that there were already people waiting and I went to the back of the venue to see if the tour bus was there.

As I came up to the back I saw Tim walking from the tour bus to the venue. After a while he came back apparently to get Tomo. They both went inside the venue. Then Tomo came back to get his guitar and he stayed a few moment to talk to us as well. When he went in again I went to find my hotel to get my suitcase in the room.

After a fast clean up I went back to the venue and met up with my friend Pie. We started to promote 30 Seconds To Mars and Street Drum Corps. When we were done we went to see if we can put some poster up inside the venue. So, we talked a bit to Jon and Emma. When they left we waited till the doors open.

I had a VIP ticket and I was actually the only on in my section. I had a lot of room to have fun. First up was Lost Alone. I must say it wasn’t their best performance. Then Street Drum Corps was up. They had a really entertaining show. I didn’t know the songs, but they were very catchy and very easy to learn the words to. After the support act we had to wait at least 30 minutes till the show went on.

30 Seconds To Mars came on with Escape and SDC (Street Drum Corps) was on stage as well. I had a really nice view of the stage. The had switched the stage around a bit and Shannon was on Tims site on the right. I finally had a chance to make really good photos of Shannon, also I was a bit disappointed that they put Tim in the back. 30STM did put up a wonderful show. They played Night of the Hunter which was amazing to hear live for a change. When they played Vox Populi SDC came on stage to help us with the stamping and clapping part. Also they had these big flashlights which they shown on Shannon and everywhere else. When Jared was done with the 100 Suns solo, the crew put up a crystal bowl and when Shannon came on stage and went to the bowl I just know it had to be L490. He first made music with the bowl and when he was finished Tim came on with an acoustic guitar and a few seconds later Tomo came on as well to play the first two guitar parts. Then Shannon came on again and he sad down on the edge of the stage and he started to play an acoustic guitar as well. It was so beautiful to hear that song live. When he was done he got of stage and Jared was somewhere on the balcony to do his acoustic part. When he started with The Kill acoustic he sort of made his way to a seconds stage and that’s where Shannon, Tim and Tomo were already playing and waiting for Jared to come to them. On the second stage they played the Fantasy. They also played Closer To The Edge and I loved it when I saw Tim doing the guitar part instead of the bass for a change. The last song of the setlist was Kings & Queens. With this song Jared asked a few people on stage to sing with him. There were about 30 people there and none of them know the words to the song, which was kinda stupid, cause they only wanted to be there for Jared.

At this show I received the setlist. After the show I waited for my friends and we went to the back where Shannon came out, but only for a few minutes. I didn’t even have time to reach him. He went inside again really quickly. We waited till 2.30 am, but nobody else came out. So, I went back to my hotel.
